Thymosin beta-4 (Tβ4) is a 43-amino-acid actin-sequestering peptide present in nearly all mammalian cells. TB-500 is a synthetic fragment representing the active region, retaining the actin-binding domain. In published work, the parent compound and TB-500 fragment have been studied for effects on cell migration, angiogenesis, and tissue repair through actin cytoskeletal regulation.
